Popei’s is a full service restaurant on Long Island, NY with a loyal customer base. They needed to re-define and develop their brand to reach a wider audience while maintaining strong connections with existing clientele. As Creative Director I was responsible for overseeing the development of the updated brand. I created a brand voice and visual identity system that embraced the retro/kitschy style of their interiors and echoed the importance of high quality, generously portioned meals that are created in an upbeat and vibrant atmosphere. Family friendly by day and party central at night, Popei’s challenge has always been to reach a multi-targeted audience with one overarching brand presence. I was able to bridge that gap by creating two distinct graphic treatments that could layer and work together or separately. By establishing a cohesive brand presence, Popei’s is able to focus their marketing outreach through both traditional and digital channels in a clear and methodical way. Both new and existing customers have become engaged with the brand through a strong social media presence, branded events and merchandising. Since the re-brand Popei’s has seen continuous increase in sales, and acquisition of new, loyal customers.
