The Story
The Portly Porker was created as a “ghost kitchen” by the owners of That Meetball Place during the pandemic. The Portly Porker brand was developed around a brand story that would follow the adventures of a vagabond pig that travels the world and collects BBQ recipes to deliver in this underground, secretive “ghost kitchen” format. Ownership wanted to deliver a bit of fun, whimsy and amazing meals during a difficult and scary time for its patrons and the world at large. As Senior Brand Designer on the project, I was tasked with partnering to develop the brand story. I created the brand identity, social media campaigns, logo design and illustration, menu designs, and supporting marketing materials. The Portly Porker was an instant success that quickly developed a loyal following and got rave reviews through its website and other review sites such as Yelp.
